For students at Riverview High School in Canada, Preston Middle School in the USA and Pheasey Park Primary in the UK, the answers are found in one project.
After hearing that many people in the world go without safe light sources (resulting in everything from the inability to study at night to significant health problems), their teachers proposed an idea. Design, build and 3D print sustainable lights that could be delivered to those in need…all during class time, without straying from the curriculum.
The result has been overwhelming. Using SMART amp software to collaborate, in real-time, across their classrooms, the students have already delivered finished lights to their new friends in the Dominican Republic and Uganda.
